Dear sir
i want to determine water (100 ppm)in condensate sample by karlfisher coulometry method but our sample have H2S concentration 600 ppmwt can interfere with karlfischer solution in ASTM E203 CORRECTION IS ONLY FOR MERCAPTAN can you guide me how can i?
best regards
EDWARD

Dear Edward! If you proceed the titration of H2S carefully, you will
have no excess of iodine in the solution. If you want to avoid the
usage of iodine, you can remove the hydrogen sulfide using the silver
salts in presence of weak base. In this method, you should add the
silver salt carefully as well, because a large excess of silver salt
affects the appearance of the potentiometric titration curve, making
it difficult to determine the endpoint.

dear sir thank you for your reply but in sample with unkown H2S HOW
CAN I ACCURATE IODINE?AND ADDITION OF IODINE INTERFERE WITH
KARLFISCHER SOLUTION IN COULOMETRY AND CONSUME THE WATER ?IF I CAN
DETERMIN H2S CONTENT CAN I CORRECTED RESULT OF WATER?
