Can I substitute the lye into "SLS or sodium laureth sulfate granules" in making soap?

Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is an active component of the synthetic soaps. You can use it instead of using lye and fat both, but if you add the fat into mixture, you should add the lye.
