Question #197527

19. Show how the law of conservation of mass is applied in the reaction between sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide.

Expert's answer

According to the chemical reaction between sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide.

H2SO4 + 2NaOH = Na2SO4 + 2H2O

All the chemical elements present in the left part of the reaction (reactants) can also be observed in the right part of the reaction (products). As a result, it can be concluded that the total mass of reactants equals the total mass of products reflecting the law of conservation of mass.
