Why lithium has high ionization energy than oxygen
Ionization energy is the minimum amount of energy required to remove the most loosely bound electron of an isolated neutral gaseous atom or molecule. It drops for a gvien electron as you go down and or right on the periodic table. That is why Litium has higher ionization energy than Oxygen.
The greater the ionization energy, the more difficult it is to remove an electron. The ionization energy may be an indicator of the reactivity of an element.
