The molar entropy of evaporation of various substances at a normal boiling point is a constant value and is equal to the Trouton constant:

ΔSυ=ΔHυ/T=Ktrouton\Delta S \upsilon = \Delta H\upsilon / T = K trouton

K Trouton = 85-88 J/(mol*K)

In a slightly different formulation, the Truton rule allows us to estimate the enthalpy of evaporation at the boiling point

ΔHυ=88Tυ\Delta H\upsilon = 88 T\upsilon
