Intrinsic semiconductors are those semiconductors which have the conductivity because of their free electrons and there is not any impurity added to it whereas in extrinsic semiconductors, conductivity is due to external added impurities. These impurities like Phosphorus,Aluminium may have excess or deficient of electron. If electron excess species are added then conductivity will be there because of extra electron whereas conductivity will be there because of hole if electron deficient species are added.Generally, conductivity of extrinsic semiconductors are more than that of intrinsic semiconductors.
