Partially miscible polymer solutions often have two solubility limits, the upper critical temperature of the solution (UCST) and the lower critical temperature of the solution (LCST), which both depend on the molar mass and pressure. At temperatures below the LCST, the system is completely mixed in all proportions, whereas with partial liquid miscibility, the LCST occurs. In the phase diagram of the components of the mixture, LCST is the total minimum of concave spinodal and binodal (or coexistence) curves.
