Question #290763

What is the new volume of a 300L sample of CO2g when pressure doubles

Expert's answer

P1V1= P2V2

When pressure increases, the volume of the gas decreases, hence when the pressure of CO2 doubles, its volume will decrease.

300L = 0.3 cubic meters

if pressure doubles it will decrease by half;

Therefore; (0.3÷ 2)= 0.15

= 0.15 cubic meters
