Use Ideal gas relation "V1\/T1=V2\/T2" at constant pressure and number of moles

given

initial temperature T1 = 250 K

final temperature T2 = 500 K

initial volume V1 = ?

final volume V2 = 12.0 L

Thus V1 = V2* T1/T2

plug in given numbers

V1 = 12.0 L * 250 K/500 K = 6.00 L

The gas law which explains the relation between volume and temperature is Charles's Law

Answer

original volume = 6.00 L

Law explained here is = Charles's law
