Le Chatliers principle states that if an equilibrated chemical system undergoes an external affect, the equilibrium shifts towards weakening of the affect.
H2(g)+I2(g) <=>2HI(g)
If one increases the concentration of H2 or I2, equilibrium shifts to the left, i.e. towards decreasing their concentration due to conversion to HI.
If one increases the concentration of HI, the equilibrium shifts to the right, i.e. to the decrease of HI concentration due to dissociation on H2 and I2.
