Nature of adsorbent: The type of adsorbent also decides the adsorption of the gas. Different molecules interact with a solid surface pore through differently and can be adsorbed in different amounts.
Surface area: Increase the surface area of the adsorbent increases the adsorption of gases as large area contains more sites of absorption.
Nature of the gas: Easily liquefiable gas will be more easily absorbed. NH3, CO2, more readily adsorbed on the solids surface rather than permanent gases like O2, H2.
The energy released in adsorption (Exothermic nature): If the temperature increases adsorption decreases as this process is exothermic.
Pressure: Increasing pressure also increases the adsorption of solid surface.
