f. Consider the following reactions. For each reaction (a) identify the kind of (organic) product formed (e.g. ester, acetal, etc), (b) count the chiral carbons in each reactant and the chiral carbons in the product (you needn’t draw the product structure, just indicate the kind of product and how many chiral carbons it has) and (c) compare the number of chiral centers in the reactants with the number in the product – have any new chiral centers been formed by the reaction? Any chiral centers destroyed? (4 points, each)
