Question #316687

What are alkenes

Expert's answer

Alkenes are basically hydrocarbons which consist of carbon and hydrogen as their immediate constituent, with two hydrogen atoms for every carbon atom, and that is any hydrocarbon containing one or more double bonds.  And because of the presence of a double bond, the alkenes are considered unsaturated

Alkenes are lighter than water. The alkenes like all the hydrocarbons burn in air to form carbon dioxide and water.
