Pyridine is less reactive, than benzene toward electrophilic aromatic substitution, because nitrogen is more electronegative, than carbon and acts like an electron withdrawing group.Pyridine is more reactive than benzene because the presence of nitrogen enables pyridine to react with nucleophiles.
