Arrange the above compounds in the ascending order of boiling points and explain your answer.
Hex-3-ene, 3-methylpentanal, 4-methylpentanol.
4-methylpentanol has highest boiling point due to H-bonding while 3-methylpentanal has a higher boiling point than hex-3-ene because of the dipole moment of carboxyl group.
