Oxygen containing functional groups can be various types. These are alcohol, aldehyde, ketone, carboxylic acid, ester and ether. An alcohol group contains –OH functional group, an aldehyde contains –CHO group, ketone contains =CO group, carboxylic acid contains –COOH group, ester contain –COOR group and ether contains –ROR- group. Here R is indicates an alkyl group.


An amine is which has NH2 group, nitriles have group and a nitro group has –NO2 functional group.
