Convert ethoxy ethane to 2 mehoxy propane
Firstly, add diluted H2SO4 and heat it the ethoxy ethane, and it will be converted to ethanol.
Secondly, add concentrated sulphuric acid at 170°C, then ethylene will be formed.
Ozonolysis converts it to HCHO.
Add a little NaBH4, and Ethanol will be formed.
The ethanol is then treated with KCN to form ethyl cyanide.
Ethyl cyanide is treated with water to form propanoic acid which gets reduced by LiAlH4 to form propanol.
The propanol and diazomethane then reacts together and methoxypropane is formed.
Note that temperature stability is really important in these reactions.
