What are the two types of heterolytic fission?

There are two variants:

1. With occurrence of carbocation: CH₄ = H₃C⁺ + H^-.

2. With occurrence of carbanion: CH₄ = H₃C^- + H⁺.

Also exist a homolytic fission with occurrence of free radicals: CH₄ = •CH₃ + H•.
