Polyatomic Molecule - Examples, Types, Classification and Properties
Most compounds are molecules containing more and different atoms and therefore can be considered polyatomic. All known natural polymers (DNA, RNA, proteins, sugars) or synthetic polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamides, polyesters, etc.) are polyatomic. Even the organic molecules are all polyatomic. Even simple molecules like water H20, hydrogen H2, nitrogen N2, oxygen O2, ozone O3, are polyatomic.
Only noble gases (He-Helium, Ne-Neon, Ar-Argon, Kr-Krypton, Xe-Xenon, Rn-Radon , are monoatomic molecules. In conclusion, we can say that in our universe the matter is mostly composed of polyatomic molecules.
