why the Lanthanides and Actinides moved to the bottom of the periodic table?

Lanthanide group is similar in chemical structure tothe lanthanum (the same with the actinides),in order that the table would have a compact form they were moved down from table. This table even called something like an incomplete, and in complete they all come in order for lanthanum and actinium.
