1. Nanotechnology has been widely used in the health and sanitation field. In 2005, scientists used nanotechnology to study the elasticity of red blood cells. The findings are being used to study how malaria spreads in human beings. (Azonano, 2013)
2. Nanotechnology is also being explored in the food security sector. It has been used to monitor pathogens in crops and parasites in livestock. Nanotechnology has also played a big role in production of suitable crops through the use of genetic engineering.

Pros

nanotechnology is highly productive and economical since it's neither labor intensive nor limited by space.

CONS

There is a high concern about pollution and nanotechnology waste management.
