According to the ideal gas equation, (PV=nRT)(PV=nRT) , an increase in pressure (P)(P) results into a decrease in volume(V)(V) occupied by CO2CO_2

In this case, the total number of CO2CO_2 molecules within the volume(n,molarmass)(n, molar mass) remains constant.
