CH3C6H4SO3H + NaOH =H2O+ CH3C6H4SO3Na

If 4.566g of tosic acid are present in 1000ml,20ml will contain 0.09132g

The R.F.M. tosic acid is 172.2 hence no of moles present will be;

"moles= 0.09132\/172.2" =0.00053moles

since the reaction rate of tosic acid and NaOH is 1:1

Then the volume 396M NaoH used in the reaction is given by;

"(0.00053* 1000)\/396" =0.00134ml

therefore 0.00134ml of NaOH are used to neutralize 0.09132g of tosic acid
