Answer to Question #94500 in General Chemistry for Stumped

Question #94500
What is the net ionic equation of the reaction of MgCl2 with NaOH?

Express you answer as a chemical equation including phases.

I did: Mg^2+(aq)+2OH^-(aq) --> MgOH_2(s), however it doesn't seem to be the correct answer. What am I doing wrong?

It is right answer:

Mg^2+(aq)+2OH^-(aq) --> MgOH_2(s)

Maybe, you should write the first process:

Mg^2+(aq)+OH^-(aq) --> MgOH^+(aq)
