Answer on Question #69612, Chemistry / General Chemistry

As an expert in environmental chemistry, you have been hired by the Ministry of the environment to do research and provide advice on the following issue: What impact would a total ban on water sold in plastic bottles have on Ontario consumers and on Ontario's environment?

Answer:

At least 50% of the water bottles consumed by the Ontarians are daily processed. This means that more than 65 million empty bottles of water per year will be debris in the Michigan landfill. These millions - and potentially billions - of the reservoir bottles for water that are sitting there, spoil garbage polygons with thousands of years ago, that it lasts a long time to break the plastic bottles of water.
