Answer: Oral environmental is characterized by the constant elevated acidity. Therefore, this may cause acidic corrosion. This is when compounds formed by acidic and metallic irons are soluble. In order to avoid this, mostly noble metals are used for orthodontic devices. Additionally, while designing orthodontic devices, the possibility of galvanic corrosion between 2 types of metals with different potential must be taken into account. Therefore, such devices are aimed to be constructed from the one type of metal.
