Why do scientists prefer to write some numbers in scientific notation?

First of all, any experiment done must be as reproducible as it possible. That is why we need to note a number information about the experiment (the starting data). Without definite numbers it would be very difficult to reproduce any synthesis. On the other hand, measurements are always represented in a number form.
