Question #330922

Nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas are combined in a reaction to produce ammonia. If 6.0 moles of N2 and 6.0 moles of H2 are present in the mixture, which is the limiting reactant?

PLEASE SHOW WORK! THANKS!

Expert's answer

N2 + 3H2 = 2NH3

Mole ratio N2 to H2 is 1 : 3

So, in order for 6.0 mol of N2 to react 6.0 * 3 = 18.0 mol of H2 required

We have only 6.0, so, H2 – limiting
