For the reaction: C(s) + H2O(g) ֖CO(g) + H2(g), what would be the effect on the
equilibrium system if H2O increases
This is an equilibrium reaction
On the left you have 1 volume of gas ( solids are considered to have no volume )
On the right you have 2 volumes of gas.
If you increase the pressure in the reactor , the reaction equilibrium will shift so as to nullify the change . The equilibrium will move to the left ( smaller volume)
