What volume of hydrogen gas at STP is produced as sulfuric acid acts on 24 g of
calcium?
Reaction between sulphuric acid and calcium is as shown below
"Ca + H_2SO_4 \\longrightarrow CaSO_4 +H_2"
From above reaction 1 mole Ca react with 1 mole sulphuric acid to give 1 mole calcium sulphate
Mole of calcium given = 0.6
So from above reaction mole of H2 produced is 0.6 mole.
From Avogadro's hypothesis volume of 1 mole gas at STP is 22.4 L
So, volume of 0.6 mole hydrogen gas is 13.44L
Volume of hydrogen produced at STP=13.44 L
