Two similar systems of monoatomic ideal gas named A & B. A undergoes isobaric changes when absorbed Q amount of heat and B undergoes isochoric changes when absorbed same amount of heat. Which system will be having higher temperature after absorbing same amount of heat? Justify your answer.
In isochoric, the volume is held constant meaning that the work done by the system will be zero.
Any heat transferred to the system externally will be absorbed as internal energy, therefore temperature rises more.
In isobaric process the gas does work on its environment at constant pressure, hence the temperature rises less.
Therefore B will have higher temperature.
