IONIC SOLIDS:

*these are hard and brittle nature.

*they act as an insulator in a solid-state but are conductors in a molten and aqueous state.

*they have high melting point e.g; Nacl, ZnS etc.

MOLECULAR SOLIDS:

*they have very low melting point.

*they don't conduct electricity so they are

*the physical state of these solids are volatile liquids, soft solid under room temperature.

COVALENT SOLIDS:

*they are insulators as in the case of a diamond but in graphite case due to free electrons, theyconduct electricity and act as a conductor.

METALLIC SOLIDS:

*the physical nature of these solids are hard but they are malleable and ductile.

*they are conductors in both solids and molten state.

*they have high melting point that ionic solids.

Eg; Ag, Cu, Mg, etc.
