Explain whether copper will displace gold from a solution containing gold ions and if there is a reaction include the half equations and full ionic equation.

Gold cannot displace copper from copper sulphate solution. This is because gold is very much less reactive than that of copper hence it cannot replace copper from copper sulphate solution and form gold sulphate.

No displacement reaction will take place because gold is less reactive than copper.
