Answer to Question #237935 in General Chemistry for gwen

Question #237935

3.)How many mL of ethyl alcohol can be distilled from 1.5 L of a 90 proof wine?

4.)58.8 g H2SO4 (MM = 98 g/mol) is added to H2O to make a 500 mL solution. If the density of the solution is 1.2 g/mL, calculate the (a) M; (b) m.

5.)How many grams of CaCL2 (MM = 110 g/mol) should be dissolved in H2O to prepare a liter of 1.2M solution?

6.)How many mL of 6M HCl solution should be diluted to make 200 mL of a 1.5M solution?

7.)To what volume must 30 mL of a 2.5M NaOH solution be diluted to make a 0.4M solution?

Molarity of solution (M) = Mass of ethyl alcohol/Molar mass/Volume of solution in dm3

(0.5mol dm−3)=Mass of ethyl alcohol(46 g mol−1)×(1500dm3)

Mass of ethyl alcohol (C2H5OH)=(0.5mol dm−3)×(46g mol−1)×(1500dm3)

Volume of ethyl alcohol solution =

Mass/Density=(3450g)(1.15g/cc)=3000ml
