Question #208617

Given the reaction: H2SO4 + CaCO3 → CaSO4 + H2O + CO2, and, starting with 2.5 moles of H2SO4, determine the volume occupied by CO2 in the CNTP.

Expert's answer

From the equation mole ratio between H2SO4 and CO2 = 1:1

Hence 2.5 moles of H2SO4 = 2.5 moles of CO2

molar mass of CO2 = 44.01

= 44.01 × 2.5

= 110.025ml
