REACTION
1. Temperature
2. Concentration
3. Particle size/
Surface area
4. Catalyst
1.An increase in temperature typically increases the rate of reaction. An increase in temperature will raise the average kinetic energy of the reactant molecules.
2.Increasing the concentration of one or more reactants will often increase the rate of reaction. This occurs because a higher concentration of a reactant will lead to more collisions of that reactant in a specific time period.
3.By decreasing the particle size of a reactant, we are increasing its surface area. The greater the surface area, the higher the chance of collisions, thus the faster the rate of reaction. The smaller the particle size the faster the reaction.
4.Catalysts are compounds that accelerate the rate of a reaction. Catalysts accelerate reactions by reducing the energy of the rate-limiting transition state. Catalysts do not affect the equilibrium state of a reaction.
