A researcher claims to have discovered why the gecko can walk on walls and ceilings. His claim is that the lizard’s feet have many microscopic hairlike protrusions that get close enough to the wall or ceiling surface to allow intermolecular forces to “take over” and hold the gecko to the surface.
This is likely to be true.
Intermolecular forces of cohesion that exists between the hairlike protrusions and the molecules of the ceiling hold the wall gecko and prevents it from falling.
