Question #166521

350 mL of a 2.0 M NaOH solution is added to a beaker. How many moles of NaOH were added? How many grams of NaOH were added?

Expert's answer

Moles of NaOH in 350mL of 2.0M solution;

We know that 2 moles are in 1000mL

How many moles would be in 350mL?

=2molx350mL1000mL=0.7mol=\dfrac{2molx350mL}{1000mL} =0.7mol

Therefore 350mL of 2.0M NaOH contains 0.7moles.

Converting moles to mass we use the formuls;

Mass = moles x MM

= 0.7mol x 39.997g/mol

= 27.998g
