  • MnO4- + 8H+ + 5e- "\\rightarrow" Mn2+ + 4H2O E1
  • Cl2 +6H2O "\\rightarrow" 2ClO3- + 12H+ + 10e- E2

∆G = -nFE1 - nFE2

∆G = -RT lnK from this equation we calculate value of K.


2. using nernst equation

E = - (0.059/n) x log K

E = - (0.059/2) x log (1.1x 10-10)

E = 0.293
