A 0.6000g sample of K2CO3 (138.2005g mol^-1) is dissolved in 200ml of water to make solution A. A 20.00ml solution of A is taken and out into an Erlenmeyer flask. To the flask was added 20.00ml of a 0.1700 mol/L HCl.
K2CO3 + 2 HCl → 2 KCl + CO2 + H2O
A reaction occurs between potassium carbonate and hydrochloric acid producing potassium chloride carbon dioxide and water.
