A given sample if gas occupies 75 mL at 2.5 atm. The pressure is increased to 8.1 atm while the  temperature remains constant. What is the new volume of the gas?

According to Boyle's Law


P1V1 = P2V2 = k(Constant) at constant temperature


Solving for V2 becomes;


V2 "=\\dfrac{P1V1}{P2}"


Since;

P1=2.5atm

V1=75mL

P2=8.1atm

V2=?


Thus,

"V2=\\dfrac{2.5atmx75mL}{8.1atm} = 23.148mL"
