Answer to Question #153874 in General Chemistry for safd

Question #153874

The student used a 50.0 mL buret to add the NaNO3 (aq) to the Cu (s) until a faint blue color was observed in the flask, an indication that the end point of the titration had been reached. The initial and final volume readings of the solution in the buret are shown below. Write down the initial reading and the final reading and use them to determine the volume of NaNO3 (aq) that was added during the titration.

Given: initial-->3.35 ml Final-->29.55

When we measure the volume of the burette reading then we consider the lower part of the meniscus. This means the reading corresponding to the lower valley is the reading of volume.

The initial reading = 3.35 mL

The final reading = 29.55 mL

Final Volume = 29.55 – 3.35 = 26.2 mL

Answer: 26.2 mL
