Corrosion of a metal is a natural process that converts a refined metal into a more chemically stable form such as oxide, hydroxide, or sulfide. For example, formation of oxide layer on the surface of Aluminum to make it more stable to destruction. Besides, it is the gradual destruction of materials by chemical and/or electrochemical reaction with their environment. For instance, formation of rust on Iron metal when left exposed to moisture and oxygen.
