Cigarettes smoke contains carbon-bashed solid particles suspended in the gas produce on combustion of cigarettes.

These carbon-bashed solid particles make the smoke visible.

In the colloid if cigarettes smoke

Dispersed phase : Solid carbon-bashed particles 

Dispersion medium : gas 

So, the type of colloid of cigarettes smoke is called Aerosol

Characteristics of colloid :

1. Colloid is a heterogeneous mixture . It contains two different phases, dispersed phase and dispersion medium

2. Colloid is stable because the particles of dispersed phase are in a state of motion. 

They don't settle down in the bottom of the container.

3. Colloid particles readily pusses through the ordinary filter paper but unable to pass through the perchment paper.
