we take the volume of the initial solution as x. the melting mass is 0.45 x. 20 liters of water is added to the solution. the volume of the solution is equal to x+20. the melting mass is 0.45 x. now through the equation we find the volume of the initial solution, that is, x.

equation:

0.45 x/(x+20)=0.3

0.45x=0.3x+6

0.15x=6

x=40

(since the density of the solution was not given, conditionally the density of the solution was taken 1g/cm3)

the answer is 40 liters.
