Why was the oven temperature set to 110 Celsius rather than a higher temperature ( which could reduce the amount of time requires for dying the solid copper samples)?

It is the highest temperature that the samples are able to stand without changing its physical and chemical characteristics.

In this analysis,copper is being dried only to the point when the weight becomes constant and not reduces further. Further heating "Cu" at a higher temperature may cause it react with the surrounding compounds like water vapor ,oxygen or also may lead to distortion in internal structure.
