Does mixing sugar and gunpowder make explosion stronger?

Potassium nitrate decomposes, the released oxygen has to diffuse to the charcoal or sulfur in which it burns. Accordingly, gunpowder explodes at only a few metres a second. 

Sugar providing carbon which is react with gunpowder ( mixture of potassium nitrate and sulfer) which burn in the presence of sugar ,for that reason mixing of sugar and gunpowder make explosion stronger.
