It is an interdisciplinary field named chemical biology. The field mainly focuses on the biological impact on living cells by applying chemically synthesized molecules as drugs. So, in my opinion it is a broader interdisciplinary aspect of Chemistry since both in vivo and in vitro all processes are nothing but chemical reactions.
