Ethanol can be converted to ethene in presence of concentrated sulphuric acid used as a dehydrating agent. It is called as dehydration reaction. By Ethene can be converted to ethane by addition of hydrogen molecule. It is known as hydrogenation reaction.


Concentrated tetraoxosulphate iv is oxidizer if it interacts with ethane.
