Answer to Question #112891 in General Chemistry for Lillian

Question #112891
At 2000°C, carbon dioxide decomposes as shown.
2CO₂(g) ↔ 2CO(g) + O₂(g)
If Keq is 6.67×10-6 and the concentration of CO(g) is 2.80×10-2M and the concentration of O₂(g) is 1.18×10-4M at equilibrium, calculate the concentration of CO₂(g) at equilibrium.

Keq ={ [CO]2 ×[O2]}/[CO2]2

[CO2]2={[2.80×10-2]2 ×1.18×10-4}/ 6.67×10-6

=1.39×10-2

[CO2]=0.117 M
